All sterling silver jewellery can tarnish over time. All 925 Sterling Silver contains a small amount of copper and its this element which reacts with salt and sulphur in the air slowly causing tarnishing.
The best way to prevent this is to wear it! However, keep it away from lotions, perfume, salty water and chemicals (and sweat!).
When not wearing your jewellery, store in an airtight, dry place (like a zip lock bag) to prevent tarnishing. Keep out of direct sunlight.
To clean, rub gently with a silver polishing cloth. This will remove mild tarnishing and restore shine. Regular care will help keep your jewellery looking like new. If you don’t have a polishing cloth to hand a very gentle wash in a mild soap solution followed by thorough drying with a very soft microfibre cloth is a good alternative.
